Play one of four colonial powers as you set sail to discover the New World. Explore new lands and strategically plant your first colony. Direct its growth, manage its resources and establish lucrative trade routes. Balance economics, political and military strategy to create your own powerful nation.

But beware of your enemies! Angry natives and rival powers can encroach upon your territory. Youll have to overcome your foes with superior military strategy and wily diplomacy. Only then can you launch your revolution and declare your independence.

Colonization, The newest strategy game from Sid Meier continues the great tradition of Civilization.

—User Reviews—
“The game is a rich and varied Gestalt of top colony activity. Strategies must be divined with care, and constantly modified to ride the chaotic rapids of the thousands of interactive elements in this opus of creative genius. Perhaps. Or it could just be a damn fine game.”

“Colonization offers hours and hours of entertainment. I played it for over a week to write this review and it commanded my total concentration all the time to play it once through. Because the game can be very different every time you play it, this means that Colonization is the sort of game you could play for ever.”

Pros and cons of Sid Meier's Colonization app for iPhone and iPad

Sid Meier's Colonization app good for

With the new update last week, this is working properly, I havent experienced any error so far.
I have been playing every year for the last 20 year, very happy to be on iOs. Once you figure-out how to drag and drop it well done. You need to hold 1 finger press until you see the green fingerprint and use an other finger to move. Some accidental clic occurs but other else wow! Thanks so much. Next game I would like to see pizza tycoon.
Finally released! I played it several times when I was young. 5 stars is for the idea to provide it to iPad, but the playability is awful. Is really bad. You just cant play it as originally released in the iPad. You should change the control in game. I played for 30 min and give up. Try to make the pointing without the mouse. You can add arrows directly in the screen to help out.
Control is very bad, but with shortcuts It can be playable, but still It is so slow, changing tours last 20-30 sec. Please fix It ipad is much faster then Amiga 500....
Seriously! iPhone 6s! It works! Ive been waited this game for years, and now its on AppStore and its works! It so cool. But. Controls are really terrible. Its good to have an ability to simulate keyboard, but it should be optional. I guess it will be better to have a small simple panel with main controls and with small button which will open full keyboard. Also, tap and hold moving works unstable too. There a things to improve, but its really cool that this game has released.
This game is great, the playability though makes it difficult due the touch mouse. Would be great if i had a bluetooth mouse to connect. This is the DOS version of the game set to run in iOS, which is what i wished civilization was. It is a very long game and would recommend reading a guide online. Also you can find quick commands for the keyboard so you do not need to use the mouse so often. You must use the popup keyboard to control movements and use the hotkey commands. Settlers: p=plow/clear land, r=build road B=build colony In europe or in colony w/boat: l=load cargo, shift+l=load cargo w/choice of how much cargo to load. If you go to the internet and review the hotkeys used on the pc version you can play this game much more easily. Touch/slide mouse control and holding mouse acts as a click.

Some bad moments

Ñ façam o download! Está 100% bugado!!!! Do not download it!! Its broken!!!
The game itself was good on PC, but the mobile version is awful. They put a keyboard over the screen for you to play. Wish my money back.
Its the old source code compiled for iOS. No touch-specific UI, lousy music, bad performance, very sloooow. Sorry I bought it.
It was an instabuy for me. Back in the days I spend way too much time with this game. It was controlled via mouse (right button!) and keyboard. Just like today, except there is no mouse and no physical keybord. If they had only given us a configurable keyboard. But thats not the way it is. Right now, its unplayable. Every little move can be done, but it is not practically executable for it takes several clicks for one simple task. Every round - even in the very beginning - takes several dozens of clicks. Poor try...
I loved the old version of this game on PC. But this adaptation for iPhone is just incredibly bad. Dont buy it! Its worth not a single Cent. Not even the time to load the game, even if it would be free... Just dont buy it.
Please, make an update. This is my favourite game of all the time. I was so exited when I saw the game in the AppStore. Unfortunately, the game is slow and the controls are difficult. Its a good start but it need few adjustments.
