Poor controls ruin the game

Im a big a fan of Colonization and was thrilled to see the game in the store. Unfortunately does the poor control scheme ruin the game. Moving the cursor and trying to interact or avoid accidental clicks is frustrating. Taking any kind of actions takes 10 times longer. One or two colonies are manageable after that it feels like an overwhelming task.
